The new LJ TOS seem to have been the last straw that made quite a few people and communities leave LJ and migrate to Dreamwidth. Many others have created mirror accounts on Dreamwidth to be able to archive their content, should LJ really come after fannish communities and individual accounts.
New fannish platforms and sites can change fandom fundamentally. We'd like to know where fandom happens for you and where you spend the most time. Thus - a poll!
Thanks to
xochiquetzl, we can post the poll now also on DW. Thank you for six months of Paid Account!
You find the poll on DW here: Fandom Platforms Poll - now on Dreamwidth
Thank you for filling out the poll. ♥ Feel free to discuss these questions in comments, obviously. We'll post a summary of the poll results in the next weeks.
The Daily Snitch has been on Dreamwidth since 2009. :)

Date: 2017-04-23 04:28 pm (UTC)The results of the poll so far are very DW-positive, though. :)
If you want to share your thoughts on the whole issue of platforms and fandom migration, please do it here in comments.

Date: 2017-04-23 05:13 pm (UTC)I want to support DW during this influx of new users, but I already have a seed account, so I've been buying gift accounts for people. In other words, let me fix that for you. :)

Date: 2017-04-23 06:34 pm (UTC)Go to the login page and give them your OpenID (https://example.dreamwidth.org). Tell Dreamwidth it's okay if they tell Livejournal that you're you. You can then fill out the poll!
I imagine this would work with insanejournal, too (but you'd have to use (http://example.insanejournal.com instead).

Date: 2017-04-23 10:44 pm (UTC)"Polls can only be added to entries when they are first posted. You can't create a poll by editing the entry later. Polls can't be edited once they're posted, although the entry they're contained in can be edited normally, as long as you don't remove the < poll-### > tag from the text of the entry." (http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=106&q=poll)
Though that DW displays the poll is obviously not optimal.
