The new LJ TOS seem to have been the last straw that made quite a few people and communities leave LJ and migrate to Dreamwidth. Many others have created mirror accounts on Dreamwidth to be able to archive their content, should LJ really come after fannish communities and individual accounts.

New fannish platforms and sites can change fandom fundamentally. We'd like to know where fandom happens for you and where you spend the most time. Thus - a poll!

I can't fill out the poll because I deleted my LJ! This might be a common enough situation to skew your results.

Very good point. But neither of the editors has an account that allows to post polls, so we cannot post the poll here atm.

The results of the poll so far are very DW-positive, though. :)

Aha, yes, I can see that.

I want to support DW during this influx of new users, but I already have a seed account, so I've been buying gift accounts for people. In other words, let me fix that for you. :)

Aha! You can fill out the poll if you deleted your LJ!

Go to the login page and give them your OpenID (https://example.dreamwidth.org). Tell Dreamwidth it's okay if they tell Livejournal that you're you. You can then fill out the poll!

I imagine this would work with insanejournal, too (but you'd have to use (http://example.insanejournal.com instead).

It seems to be impossible for me to fill this out? When I click to answer it tell me that I don't have permission to see it.

Likewise. I think it wants LJ authentication instead of DW auth, which is a bit weird given that this version is on DW itself. :(

I don't think that's it. I'm logged into my LJ account (but hadn't filled out the poll there) as well, so if it wanted that, it should have worked for me. I think something must have gone wrong with the poll creation because it was inserted later. I don't think you can do that. At least the FAQ says:

"Polls can only be added to entries when they are first posted. You can't create a poll by editing the entry later. Polls can't be edited once they're posted, although the entry they're contained in can be edited normally, as long as you don't remove the < poll-### > tag from the text of the entry." (http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=106&q=poll)

Though that DW displays the poll is obviously not optimal.

I created the poll entirely on DW, there is no LJ authentication required. I'll try reposting the poll in another post. Perhaps this will work. Sorry about the hassle.
